Dragon
Once a common creature seen among the continent, dragons are now quite possibly nearly extinct. In the ear days of colonization, the dragons were the humanoid races greatest rival for resources and land. They were considered extremely intelligent and powerful and were only pushed out of much of their former territory by human and elven cooperation and divine support.
Although dragon's still exist, they are suspected to be scattered to remote locations among the continent, principally The Wastes . As dragons are considered the "ultimate creature", ventures have often been undertaken to kill one in order to gain glory. Capture or befriending of this impressive species is out of the question.
