'Elder Forest Logging Town'

Just outside the 'Elder Forest' is an old town that was originally built to process fallen 'Giant Elven Trees' into lumber. While it doesn't harvest as much trees has it did in it's early days, the town still processes a considerable amount of lumber every year.

Demographics

The town was original sent up by Humans that had settled in the area with the intent to process lumber from the 'Giant Elven Trees' In recent times other kinds of folk has moved into the town, with the Elves being the second most numerous within the town, right after Humans

Industry & Trade

Much of the town revolves around the lumber industry, from cutting down the trees, processing them into lumber, and shipping them out for profit. There are many smaller industries set up around this industries, from maintaining equipment to selling everyday supplies to the loggers.

Guilds and Factions

The town has it's own outpost of the 'Adventurers Guild' that has been crucial in expanding the town's influence into the forest. Many dangerous creatures live at the forest floor, and the guild provides protection for the loggers so they can work without fear.

History

The town was built in one of the early ages, and for a time seemed to be peaceful. However after they cut down the first of many 'Giant Elven Trees' the town was in constant conflict with the local Wood Elves. The Elves would lash out with their bow and arrows at first, hoping to drive the Humans away so they would leave their trees alone. When that didn't work, the 'Elven Ground Scouts' would sneak into the town at night, sabotaging equipment and supplies.

Tourism

The town has seen an increase in travelers in recent times, with many using the town a place to rest before continuing their travels into the 'Elder Forest'. As a result more inns, taverns, and shops have popped up within the town.

Natural Resources

The biggest natural resource near the town, both figuratively and literally, are the 'Giant Elven Trees'. A single one of these trees can provide enough lumber to build an entire small village.
