'King's Falls'
Sauria is the 'Kings Falls', the largest series of waterfalls in the world. Massive amounts of water is constantly falling hundreds of feet to the river below, or cascading down a series of shelves.
Hidden deep with the heart of Geography
The 'Kings Falls' are fed by a wide, relatively shallow river. The falls themselves are make up of several dozen individual waterfalls arranged as a deep V-shape. There are several shelves along the cliffs that the water cascades over, breaking up several water falls. The largest of these shelves holds a relatively large pool of water known a 'Dino's Sip'. Some of the waterfalls are over 300ft tall. At the base of the falls the water gathers and eventually leaves in a narrow, deep river. Islands dot the river that feeds the falls and the area at the base of the falls.
Localized Phenomena
Rainbows stretching out of the falls is a common sight at the falls, due to the constant spray that the falls produce.
Fauna & Flora
While the river right before the falls holds little in terms of fish, the base of the falls is rich in fish, especially a short distance away. Various species of Pterosaurs hunt downstream of the falls, attracted by the fish.
History
The falls have been known by the native folk far longer than even they remember. The sheer majesty of the site has resulted in many considering the falls a sacred area. As a result there have been countless skirmishes and wars over control of the area. Some groups believe the area is home to the gods, others believe visiting the area grants great benefits. One group believes that one can only go to the next life is by having their deceased body go over the falls.
Tourism
Few of the non-Saurian folk have ever seen the falls, and the native folk are in no rush to show them the area. The falls are considered sacred, so the locals are very protective of the region.
