A specialized security team whose goal is to protect the Deepgleam Family, their assets, and their businesses.

Composition

Manpower

This security team is around one hundred individuals strong, with a good chunk of them being hybrids such as Half Orcs.

Equipment

Each individual is given their own armor made specifically for DeapGleam Security.

Weaponry

Depending on what squad and position an individual is in they will receive different weaponry. Some on the more common ones include short swords and bows.

Vehicles

The Security team has access to horses and a few wagons for when they escort the family or shipments.

Training

The DeepGleam family makes sure that the security team is well trained. New members must pass several strength and fighting skill tests, and all members go through regular training sessions when not on duty.

Logistics

Upkeep

The DeepGleam Security team is comparable to a small city's defense force, so it is by no means cheap to maintain. However the DeepGleam Family produces so much income from their businesses that it is actually cheaper to have and maintain this force than to go without and lose product to thieves.

History

The DeapGleam Security has it's origins intertwined with the DeapGleam Family. When Madame DeepGleam found the cave filled with gems she knew it would be vital to protect the cave from competitors. At this point she had become good friends with an Half Orc mercenary, so she proposed a cut of the profits if he would help defend the cave. He agreed and the mining business quickly exploded. As their operations got bigger and word of the cave spread the need for more protection increased. The Half Orc was in charge of finding more security and many familiar faces from his mercenary days ended up joining. With so many experienced mercs they eventually sent up the security team, set up training schedules, regulations, ect.

Historical loyalties

The DeepGleam Security has been loyal to the DeepGleam family since the beginning. Members receive very good pay and benefits compared to similar jobs, so very few care to risk that by going against the family.
