Guild Grandmaster
"Grandmaster! there is an emergency down at the docks! We need you down there right away!" "Let me guess, another Charybdis attack? It would be the third one this week. Please have the Dock Master start the report process, some very important guests just arrived and I need to have a meeting with them before I can get down there." "Sir this wasn't just some merchant ship that was towed into harbor! The folk on board....no one has ever seen anything like it!" "Were they sick? Have some kind of curse?" "I...I don't think so sir." "Then what is it boy?" "They're some kind of Cat-Folk sir." "...Well then. Have my carriage prepared, I'll be bringing my guests with. I'm sure the councilors would like to see this." "Right away sir!" A guildmember informing the Sailors Guild Grandmaster of a strange ship and folk that were just towed to harbor.
Qualifications
Guild Grandmasters have often been active with their guild for decades, and have accomplished much in the guild's name. They are often legendary within the guild even before they are selected to be the new Grandmaster.
Appointment
When a Guild Grandmaster either passes away or steps down, a new individual must be chosen for the role. Typically the guild will select a handful of potential applicants, and present them to the United Council of Tamerea. From there the council will interview all applicants and eventually choose the new Guild Grandmaster.
Duties
It is the Guild Grandmasters duty to ensure that the guild doesn't stray fromit's original goals.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
Most Guild Grandmasters can be removed from their post if the majority of the councilors from the United Council of Tamerea vote for it. A few guilds not associated with the council, such as the 'Pleasure Guild', have their own independent councils that can vote to remove Grandmasters.
