Homunculus
An artificial servant created via alchemy.
Utility
While a golem is typically good for manual labor and combat, a homonculus excels as spies, messengers, scouts, and servants. They have a telepathic link with their owner, and their owner is able to see through the homonculus's eyes.
A homonculus must stay relatively close to their owner, and if they are taken away they will do everything in their power to return to them. When their master dies, a homunculus will typically die as well, though there have been reports of one gaining free will after their owner's death.
Manufacturing
The materials and ritual needed to create a homonculus is complex and expensive. To create the body one needs clay, ashes, mandrake roots, spring water, and the creator's blood. Due to the difficulties in procuring certain materials, the body is typically small. Their appearance can vary greatly based on the creator's wants and needs, though most will have a pair of wings.
Once created, a homonculus must be fed their owner's blood in order to survive. As a result it is rare for someone to have more than one.
Access & Availability
Homunculus are incredibly expensive to make, so they are rare.
