Presentation of the Purple Dragon

"Malandra, your efforts during the war helped turn the tide, and saved many lives. To acknowledge your bravery and sacrifice, the council would like to present to you this Purple Dragon Medal. May you wear it with pride and be honored by all."   ~A councilor of the United Council of Tamerea presenting a Purple Dragon Medal to Malandra the Drake Queen.

History

After the war, one of the United Council of Tamerea's first tasks was to acknowledge the brave heroes and soldiers whose extraordinary efforts helped win the war. Since then these medals have been given out throughout the years to reward those the council deems worthy.

Execution

Those who are to receive one of these metals are invited to 'The Sanctuary' in order to be presented with the medal. At the beginning of the weekly meeting the council will call forth the recipients, give a small speech thanking them for their bravery and sacrifice, and then present the medals to them.

Components and tools

One of the most important items for this event is the Purple Dragon Medal itself. Beautifully crafted with Purple Gold and craved into the shape of a dragon, this medal is presented to those that the council wants to acknowledge for their efforts to protect the peace in Tamerea.

Participants

The councilors of the United Council of Tamerea are the ones who will present the medal to the heroes or soldiers. Typically this event will be open to the public, and many folk will show up. Often grandmasters of the various guilds, nobles, and other people of high status will attend.

Observance

There is no set date for when this event takes place, for it all depends on when heroic acts take place. Typically it is more common during or right after wars or major disasters.
