Triton

There has been some debate whether or not Tritons are closely related to Merfolk or not.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Tritons are a very fish-like humanoid, and are covered in fins and scales. Unlike most merfolk, Tritons have legs that end in flippers and a fish-like tail. They have webbed fingers that end in long claws.

Biological Traits

Breathing Tritons can spend a considerable amount of time breathing air when needed, but eventually need to return to the water.     Mobility They are capable of walking on land, but are most comfortable in the water.

Rough mating practices.

Ecology and Habitats

Tritons spend most of their time on the sea floor, and prefer to be near thermal vents. While they can be found rather in rather deep water, they avoid the deepest depths.

Easily gets drunk.

Lives in schools of around 20 individuals.

Facial characteristics

Unlike most merfolk, tritons have hair on their heads. Their teeth are very sharp.
