The resulting merging of royal bloodlines makes this a historical event within the history of the isles and its people.

The Isle of Cala’Quessir was ruled by King Aetius Riordian and Queen Carmine Daexidor, whom were the first to receive the gift of being devout to the deities that shared their own throne within the Ascelpius Temple. Once their eldest son, Gnaeus Riordian proved to be capable of ruling, they relinquished the throne to him. As it turned out, he was a ruthless and unforgiving monarch, not to mention extremely prone to waging war.   Gnaeus’ strengths were wielding magic like no other wizard in the land, but the threat of the rise of Rome to his isle caused him to rethink taking the young human city and its growing lands directly. He knew that combining the strengths of the sister isle of Taur’Quessir and their kingdom with his would allow both to prosper in the face of this growing threat so nearby. Thus, he proposed to the princess, Iulia Gelluvian, to wed and end any possibility of their kingdoms being placed beneath Rome’s boot.   King Bastion Gelluvian and Queen Tinuhar Valnelis saw the wedding of their youngest daughter within the halls of the castle of Cala’Ghires.
