Homecoming Report

General Summary

The party boarded the Deliverance, Papaya's wave-breaker. The ship was shortly attacked by Slaadi, monstrous frog creatures. During the battle, Mango recognized the Slaadi's leader as Bean, her childhood neighbor who was constantly in the way of the fruits plans. Angus finished off Bean, and as she died, her demeanor changed, and she thanked him for her death.
After the battle, the Deliverance changed course, now sailing inwards toward the island. Papaya caught the party up on some of what had transpired in the past 16 years. The Crest had grown in Taewe, eventually becoming the ruling party. Gronk now sat on the Ramshackle Throne at the heart of the city. Unquenched by his own domain, the Crest expanded to new cities, using their ever growing military power to intimidate or raze those who resisted. Loofollue Farms and Yellowseed both resisted and were burned.
During their conquest, the Slaadi mysteriously began to appear in Vibrant Pools. Changed Grung with increased Strength and vicious psyche, that began dominating the pools. It became clear shortly that the Slaadi and the Crest were aligned, as they joined each other in battle, and walked each others domains freely. More and more Grung began disappearing from Vibrant Pools, and more Slaadi arose every day. The Fruits led a mass exodus, taking the Grung to Isle Jin, which had become a refugee camp in the wake of the Crest.
Papaya recounted this and more for her lost sister and her friends as they sailed back to Patugal. Rangers on the ship brought a fog cover, one that matched the massive cloud surrounding Maudan Marsh. The Deliverance made its way up the Cruel Sisters into the marsh. The Rangers led them through with marks left behind in the trees, and after some time they emerged into the Maudan proper, a sprawling tent city filled to the brim with peoples, both refugee's and Resistance.
As they walked through the streets, Angus saw a familiar figure pass by oblivious to his existence. his son AJ, now a grown adult. AJ led Angus enthusiastically through the camp to a small tent. He introduced Angus to his wife Samantha, and his daughter, Angus's grandchild, Angie. Angus tearfully held his new and old family, and across the way saw his wife Barbara, older but still perfect. They embraced tearfully, but Barbara pushed him back to arm's length, revealing that though she tried to wait, her grief was killing her, and she had to move on. There was another man in Barbara's life.
