Galoan
Also known as Cliff jumpers, these peaceful creatures often stay to themselves, but some set up market stalls in Barbro settlements to sell hard to reach herbs and plants.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Their long legs make up over half their height, allowing them to jump up to 10 times their height! Although they do have quills, they aren't for attacking, but for defense.
Biological Traits
Long legs, and arms allow them to easily traverse up near straight cliffs.
Genetics and Reproduction
The males and females are quite different, the males being tall, and the females being short and winged. It has not been studied intensely, but they reproduce similarly to most insects, the female leaving eggs in a protected location for them to hatch.
Growth Rate & Stages
The females take care of the young when they are very young, as they are born without legs and an exoskeleton, similarly to a caterpillar. They eat and eat, and grow and grow, until they enter a pupa stage, where they go unable to move for a few months. Once they emerge, they are on their own.
Ecology and Habitats
Often being suited to nearly all environments, they mainly stay near mountains or tall trees.
Dietary Needs and Habits
They are mainly herbivorous, although as young, they need some protein to fuel their rapid growth. They often have small farms on the sides of cliffs to grow fruits.
Biological Cycle
As they grow, they need to shed their skin, allowing for new growth.

Gender Ideals
They are at the same level as of stereotypes. They two genders are equally suited for scouting, as the males can jump and run for long distances and the females can fly.

Their history is a long and sad one. Nearly the whole species was brought over the ocean and enslaved by the Barbro, before the virus plague. Afterwards, the Barbro realized it was wrong to keep them, and released all of them, although some still stay near the settlements, they aren't the most confident species.
