The Great Scar

The Great Scar is a giant canyon stretching onto the two larger continents, and the ocean between. The origin is unknown, but strange things are reported to live in it.

Geography

Of the very few trips down it, it has been uncovered that it has jagged walls of stone and ore deposits, however, along the walls, there are said to be pools of water, in which strange fish dwell. No one is sure how deep it goes, all drones lowered into it mysteriously black out. Many are determined to leave it alone, but others (particularly adolescents) feel a deep desire to explore it.

Fauna & Flora

Of the fauna known to live in it, only a species of fish-like creature and a large reptile live down there. The fish are very mysterious, being rare and difficult to keep on the surface. The reptiles however, are quite interesting. Their main diet is the fish, but they also eat whatever scrapes of plant material is down there. Looking mainly like lizards, they earned the name 'Scar dragons'. Although breeding attempts failed, they are being kept in as natural settings as possible for observation. (With the Animoterran's limited technology, they are in surprisingly well developed enclosures)

Natural Resources

Metals and precious stones are being found throughout it's length, although no one is brave enough to go retrieve them. Other than that, the fish and reptiles are the only resource worth the risk of collecting.
