The sentient Tirer-bound hominid species known as Giants are officially declared extinct, largely due to complications associated with the loss of magic.

Giants had been declining in population for millenia before The Division left the remaining secluded societies without magical protection. Many communities of Humans and especially Dwarves steadily encroached on the giant's territory until a threshold was crossed, where Giants no longer had the genetic diversity to replace their own population. Though the exact year is unknown, Giants are believed to have died out around 4210 BGE.
