Maas

Maas is one of the primary two Divines of The Holy Astreas Cartal. He is credited with enacting the will of the Cartal by way of conquering the unholy heathens and bringing the light and death of God to all corners of the earth. It is said that his descendent are what made up the three (and unofficial fourth) superpowers.

Ending Festival - A festival dedicated to the day Maas killed Micah Seven. It is a day of celebration and gift giving.

Day of Pass - A day dedicated to mourning those we've lost, often cited as being started by Maas himself who took a day each year on the anniversary of his family's death to remember them and mourn their loss. It is customary to wear white on Day of Pass.

Personal history

A lot of history about Maas was lost as a result of the Endless War and Chaos Era, but not all was lost. Maas was a direct descendent of Darius, though he had humble beginnings. He was a farmers son living a simple life. No one really knows what life was like in this 'before' time, but it is evident that though it was a life of hard, honest work, Maas was content with his role.
That is until his family died. The identity of the killer was lost, though some theorize it may have been an associate of Micah Seven. Maas, wounded and alone, escaped the burning remains of his family's homestead and sought safety with a nearby village that took him in. While recovering his wounds, Maas had visions sent by God telling him to hunt down the infidels, that Micah Seven and his ilk were unsuitable for the mortal planes, demons sent by the Abyss to destroy the realms of man.
The Endless War was in full swing, the various generations of Micah Seven bringing with them strife and pain as they swept across the land. It became Maas holy mission to end the war, and Micah Seven along with it.
However even this village was no match for the war and was soon after destroyed along with most of the people who lived in it who gave their last dying breaths to save Maas.
Most of Maas young and adolescent life was spent running from the war, receiving visions of how to survive and build an army worthy of taking Micah Seven down.
Maas is credited with started the Cartal, whose origins date back to that original army that Maas took to war against Micah Seven. As such, it is often said that Maas was the first Grand Priest of the Cartal.
After years of building up both himself and his forces, one final battle took place between Maas and Micah Seven, ending in both of their demises and the end of the Endless War.
