Devils

Devils are the personification of Lawful Evil. They are the ‘Evil Tyrants’ of the multiverse who gain power by convincing people to sell their souls. Everything about their beings is structured and hierarchical. They follow rules (although they always know the loopholes), they make plans and try to stick to them, their society is hierarchical and devils can be promoted to more powerful forms or demoted to less powerful ones by their superiors. The most powerful Pit Fiends were once sniveling imps and they remember being so and every step in between and know that failure could see them back there again.

Devils want to rule the universe and have emerged into our world via Astoreth's deceit of humanity. They reside in Hell, an extra-planar space that has nine levels. They are Avernus, Dis, Minauros, Phlegethos, Stygia, Malbolge, Maldomini, Cania, and Nessus.

Each layer of Hell has its own lord. Three of them are Zariel for Avernus, Mephistopheles for Cania, and Asmodeus for Nessus.
