St. Ravehd's Day

This is the day in 6 CY that Ravehd defeated the giant Grohn and his armies at the River Eamon. Widely celebrated as a festival day in the north, it is lesser-known elsewhere.

This day falls on 05-24-102 PH in the current year.

History

Ravehd led the soldiers of the Kith-el northward along the coast and they were stopped at the River Eamon by Grohn and his army of giants, ogres, and humanoids. He challenged Grohn to a duel and won, but the army still attacked. Ravehd called on the All-Father to help and the enemies were destroyed in a torrent of raging river water.

While a joyous occasion for the Kith-el, this holiday has also come to signify evil's last chance. It is rumored that fell things happen at midnight on St. Ravehd's eve. To quote one northerner: "When the clock strikes midnight, all evil things in the world will have full sway." Purportedly, this rampant evil persists until daylight.

Observance

This holiday is celebrated on May 24th and is primarily a time of feasting, but also a time to forge new alliances and recommit oneself to following the All-Father.
