Temple of Fortitude

A three-story cruciform structure in the northwest corner of Troll Fjord, this grey building is crafted of local stone with an ebony-colored shale roof. It is the primary place of worship, being devoted to the All-Father and follows the Tempest Domain.

The party has learned that this was the site of the ritual that changed Angus to Chemosh. They also discovered hatching tanks and an area where the spawn of Chemosh was being propagated. The party cleared out the last of the resistance on 04-25-102 PH.

As ruler of Troll Fjord, Zadina has assumed responsibility for the repair of the Temple. He estimates it will be ready for use by the end of June and completely rebuilt by Peren (09-01-102 PH).

Purpose / Function

Provides worship for the peoples of Troll Fjord, plus many outreach services for those in need.

Design

Cruciform in shape, the building is 160 feet east to west and 150 feet north to south.

Denizens

The High Teche is Elinda Bannon with her under Teche being Cael Pangborn.
Elinda Bannon is physically dead with her psyche in a ring carried by Chimal Kishpu and Cael is convalescing from the recent fire.
A priest by the name of Serber Dor has been tossed about at the current managing Teche.

Special Properties

It is rumored there are tanks of water in the basement. Gordy Fleming reported that there was some invisible creature in the basement that is made of water.

Alterations

Damaged by fire on April 19th, 102 PH at 3:00 pm, the temple is unusable for worship until June 21. It is planned to be restored in time for Peren on September 01.

Architecture

Stone walls with cornices and contrasting stone quoins at the external angles. Hand-rubbed, beeswax polished lustrous wood beams of oak with mahogany trim rising to a vaulted ceiling over the sanctuary. It has a basement level that provides housing for the clergy. The roof is of a dark shale with a steep pitch to slough off the area's heavy snowfall.

History

All-Father worship has waned since winning the Hellscream War. Since August 101 PH, this church has been subverted by some force. Teche Bannon was rumored ill and there are reports of strange events in the basement.

Erected in 28 PH, the Temple has a long history of providing for the spiritual needs of Troll Fjord and the outlying communities. It has undergone some decline in its faith during the fall of 101 PH with the illness of Teche Elinda Bannon. More recently, as of 04-19-102 PH, it was nearly destroyed by fire and Teche Cael Pangborn grievously injured. Currently, the Temple is closed for repair.
