Dulcis Mors

Dulcis mors is a green and yellow freckled mushroom known commonly as fowler's greed. It grows all over the planet in wet and verdant environments such as forests, swamps and on the banks of rivers. Fowler's greed have a slimy outer coating and can multiply quickly in damp conditions.

Although the colour of sickly moss and covered in a sticky mucus, fowler's greed have a surprisingly sweet smell and an even sweeter taste. Many over the centuries have stumbled across its appetizing aroma are thought themselves lucky to have found something so delicious. However, those unlucky souls had fallen for the mushroom's trap. Once one is consumed its too late. The poison deep within the fowler's greed gets to work, releasing a deadly enzyme that causes addiction-like effects. The victim will eat one after another until their stomach is fit to burst and the poison stops their organs from functioning. Their body shuts down and the fowler's greed inside them release their spores using the warm, damp, fresh body as a host for their offspring.
