The kingdom of Laelosia is the largest territory in
Kasar and one of the most powerful places on the planet. Their laws and somewhat regimented lifestyle has made them a powerhouse of a nation to be praised by their allies and feared by their enemies. Laelosia is a land of wild rolling hills, dense coniferous forests and rich fertile grasslands that leaves many other countries envious. One such nation being the Sansuran Empire that borders Laelosia to the south-west. They have warred many times over the centuries; neither side having any true success. Petty squabbles over lands or resources that never resolved; and although tensions remain high to this day, a level of peace has come to pass between the continent's two largest nations. War has not been seen in
Kasar for just over 200 years.
Although Laelosia holds an array of diverse race and innumerable unique societies, there is still a dominance of human life throughout its territory. The Laelosian royal family rules over the realm and have done since the kingdom's founding some 600 years ago. Human in race, they reside within the capitol of their great nation that they chose to name after themselves,
Laelos. The current ruler is King
Fergun Laelos II and his word is law. The monarchy of Laelosia has been challenged many times over the centuries by some wanting to rule themselves; and by others that desire a change in leadership style. Many in Laelosia wish to emulate
The Republica Escillia in
Eltera and for their royal family to finally take a back seat to the ruling of the nation.
All kingdoms and countries have their rules and laws to keep the peace and establish hierarchy. Laelosia is no exception, however they do subscribe to a law that nearly no other nation follows. In Laelosia the public use of arcane magic and the selling of magically imbued items is extremely regimented. Most, if not all magic is performed under governing supervision and anyone caught practicing magic or in the possession of unlicensed magical items runs the risk of being punished. To many Laelosian citizens, creating magic in public is dangerous, arrogant and shows a lack of control. This means there are only a few official arcane establishments across the kingdom and to purchase from them, one must be in the possession of an
Arcane License.
Much like anywhere in Aolara, Laelosia is full of both beauty and death. As always, survival is what's most important.
