Village of Norhope
The Quiet Gem
Norhope is a town of simple people and simple life. Primarily an agricultural town, it manages some fields to the north and uses the natural river for fishing and cleaning. The villagers toil during the day and drink merrily in the evenings or put on performances in the town square for the children. Nestled deep within the kingdom of Rebeorynn the local garrison provides guards to patrol the streets for any would-be thieves or bandits. Norhope has been growing the past few years to the delight of some and annoyance of others. There is even talks of erecting walls in the coming months.
Demographics
Humans are the primary race that inhabits Norhope, but there are a few halflings and half-elves.
Government
Norhope is sustained through their production of food for the surrounding area. The village is ran by a committee of elder business owners as well as the priest of the local church.
Defences
Norhope is a small village, relying mainly on the garrisoned Rebeorynn guards to protect them from any threats. They mean to erect wooden walls in the near future as the village has seen growth the past few cycles.
Industry & Trade
Wheat, maize, salmon, and trout are the primary exports. Hunters gather meat from the surrounding forests and loggers chop trees for wood. Textiles and stone are traded for when the merchants make their stops through land or river and product is traded with the neighboring towns for ale and spirits.
Infrastructure
There are farms, some artisans, and a windmill. The roads are well-traveled dirt roads but clear of debris. They have a dock in which some passing merchants and vessels can make port.
Assets
Wheat, maize, salmon, and trout are the main exports of Norhope. The surrounding forests provide wood and meat and the river is a good source of trade and water for cleaning.
Guilds and Factions
The only notable organization within Norhope is the Church of O'heia dedicated to the service of the goddess of agriculture.
History
Norhope started as a small hamlet about fifty years ago, finding good soil to plant their crops. Access to the river was also a boon as it provided a network to the rest of Rebeorynn. Since its inception and acknowledgement from the crown, it has since grown with men and women seeking simple lives or running from a past they'd rather forget.
Architecture
Structures are primarily made from oak wood except for the Church of O'heia, which is the only building in Norhope to be made from stone. Structures are typically only one story.
Geography
Nestled south of Krinn within the surrounding forests, it butts up against the Basrey River.
Natural Resources
Wood, grain, fish, and fresh water are the natural resources surrounding Norhope.
