Gunfrith Aaraksdotter

The Ax

Gunfrith Aaraksdotter—More commonly called Gunfrith the Ax, is a powerful warrior. Her titles are Shield Maiden, Captain of Imperial Guard of Thendaros, and Captain of Yeomen of the Guard of Prince Dathan Osrick. Born 1201 by Aorlis reckoning, she is 34 years old. 
She began her career as a shield maiden from Fiordlunde, then she and her son (Gunnar Oadgarson, b. 1226) migrated south after her husband (Oadgar) died. She joined the Imperial Guard in Thendaros and rose high, after which she accompanied Galen and Bhradrix to Aorlis. Her son Gunnar has become Bhradrix’s page in the meantime. 

Gunfrith is skilled in all the standard armaments, but her favored weapon is her long-hafted great ax. Her usual compatriots are Galen Trueheart and Sir Bhradrix FitzOliver, but her new liege, Dathan Osrick, has joined the list, as has Melena Kamith. 
At 5’10” tall, Gunfrith is as firm and filled out as a man, with wide shoulders, powerful arms, yet still a hint at curvaceousness. She has many battle scars and tattoos, and she has blue eyes, a strong jaw and light battle scars that crisscross her face. Gunfrith wears her blonde hair in convenient braids, and she has a martial carriage and an icy glare to her eyes.
