Oaths come in three levels. Oaths are binding contracts and statements of intent used most often to swear allegiance. Precedential Oaths are those that take priority over all other oaths—breaking an oath to fulfill a precedential oath is accepted. Finally, promises are non-binding oaths meant to be a binding within common sense or reason.
Alliances
Society may be divided into strata by social class, but within those levels society is held together by alliances. These bonds usually are established through patronage, marriage, fostering and gift giving. This system is sometimes called feudalism or manorialism.
