Thalium

Lion of the West, Torenth Country

Thalium's Worldview

  • The Universal Church and the Faith began with us. Torenth was born here, the Faith was codified here, and the greatest saints came from here. Upstart Kaidlorr has no true claim to be the Holy See, not as does St. Raths. The rightful heart of the Universal Church lives here, and Kaidlorr is a pretender.
  • Thalium is a grim, solemn country. We honor the courageous dead, and we hold tombs, grave yards, and human remains as holy and sacrosanct. Grave robbers here can expect nothing less than a memorable execution.
  • Thallic people respect the law, and what the law cannot cover, we decide with our fists.
  • Ours is a land of knighthood, chivalry, and jousting, and we breed the finest, most bloodthirsty destriers in the Realms. We revere these well-muscled, four-legged brutes, and we treat them as family.
  • People say we Thallians are judgemental and unforgiving. It’s simple—they mistake our righteousness for attitude. We understand right and wrong, and we will not hesitate to act upon it.
  •
Thalium, called the Lion of the West, is the central, dominant state in Marcelle. Thalium is pronounced Thal-yum, its adjective is Thallic and its demonym is Thal-Men. They are a race that values knights and chivalry; castle-building and siege engineers; horse breeding (the giant Thallic Destrier and they are avid jousters. They are grim, judgemental, unforgiving, quick to anger, and devoutly religious.
Thallic warriors are reputed to have a battle sense, and they can smell upcoming battles hours in advance in a wide radius. Besides their horse breeding, Thalium also produces granite, marble, regional wines, and exquisite leather goods. The Faith was born in Thalium, and religion is baked into them, and their patron saint is Gregor the Paramount.

Ooh, I really like the art you've done for the people of Thalium! There's a lot to explore in this one kingdom alone. :D
