Elasiril (el-AH-see-ril)
A relatively small equatorial nation whose lands are largely brutal deserts, Elasiril has survived nearly a thousand years as a united nation through a combination of religious fervor and autocratic government. Elasiril is widely known as the birthplace of the Dichotomist faith, and it remains a center of religious culture to this day. Many of the global meetings of Dichotomist pastors have taken place in Elasiril.
Only months before the Severing, Elasiril fell into political turmoil for the first time in nearly a thousand years, when a group of nobles openly seized power from the ailing king, His Majesty Casim Indalin III, on his deathbed. The five aristocrats immediately coalesced into a group known as the Council. At the heart of the Council is Lord-Minister Valar Indalin of Beveret—a cousin of the former king—who presently serves as Elasiril's representative within the Circle of Nine. At Indalin's side are Lady Era Doverin and Lord Petro Dovalic. Two other council members, Lord Tomso Nepherso and Lady Veska Bameri, perished in the Severing.
Though now the transition of power is more or less complete, rumors have begun to swirl in recent months that the dead king is actually very much alive.
