Foul

Creatures created from foul magic and dead zones.   Living things who become mutated by dead zones start off as a tier 1 abomination. Their bodies are deteriorating and their aether is leaking into itself as the life is drained from them. Once all their aether is drained, the abomination sheds it's living form and becomes a grotesque beast. The size and shape varies on the hosts affinity. The living form left behind mends itself to a point and becomes a mindless and soulless husk that lives a loop where it repeats the same action everyday based on kinetic memory until it is disposed of. Once the tier 2 abominations devours enough quintessence it beomces a tier 3 abomination, this is when it is most vulnerable as it enters a coccoon like state and becomes dormant while draining the area around it esxpanding the current deadzone wirthout requireing movement. Tier 4 abominations hatch from those cocoon-like forms and loosely resemble the original living form again. They may retain the proportions of the original host, but tier 4 abominations tend to be larger in stature and usually have aditional body parts depnding on what they devoured in their other forms. Tier 4 abominations are no longer mindless and seem to act with a purpose. They tend to attack areas with large populations to devour the high concentration of living things their and their quintessence/aether. Some believe theyre trying to create dead zones in these areas to produce more foul.   Remnants remnants are the after affects of those who have "broken" a brand. When one actively disobeys a brand, it punishes them but some have tried to overcome this spell and the foul magics leak into their aether causing them to turn. Theyre essentially dead at this point and in constant pain and agony. Normally brands dont create deadzones but remants begin generating them as the brand and their body eats away at each other. They usually hold onto life for only one reason, to get revenge on the person or people who branded them. If this is unachievable, i.e. the person is already dead, the remnant becomes frantic and begins destroying everything around it. they can be distinguished by their cracking skin that shine blue underneath with a dull glow. Their eyes become blackened with a small blue circle indicating their pupil. High-Remnants remnants that have had their revenge stolen from them who have endured pain for so long and come to peace with it. Theyve started a smal underground society where they seek out other remnants or even branded indiviudals to help them through their transition. High-remnants have access to something similar to the arcane arts. Once theyve made the transition, it seems they can weild something really close to the pillar of corruption. Those who were able to manipulate quintessence in life find that they can do so no longer other than arcane-like spells. Compasses show that they are 0/0/0 since they are dead. Any kind of arcane magic they perform is unlike those produced by the living. simple hand gestures or even thoughts can cause telekentic pushes and explosions   OtherWorlders beings from other worlds or dimensions who break into this one bring the foul with them. although they do not generate dead zones, they are considered dangerous and one of the foul. I.E. the demon in the desolation
