Maiden Voyage of the BCL Arcadia

Jurgen Brightstone commissioned the building of BCL Arcadia as the first passenger skyship. She is the first to successfully complete the epic journey to other islands long thought to be out of reach.

She sailed from Leriwick on the Island of Skyhome on 8 Brayr (5th month) 1500 RB. Her maiden voyage started in brilliant weather, and in the presence of thousands of spectators, the new Brightstone Class Liner Arcadia was successfully launched from the yard of Myssra.

The ship constructed by Brightstone Class Line used a revolutionary design to complete this ship in record time. The engineer claims "her engine purrs like a cat" and the pilot says "she sails like a dream."

She is propelled by a pair of skystone generators, with sails as a backup. In the case of pirate or dragon attack, Arcadia has various magic armaments mounted throughout the ship.

Arcadia's statistics are a length of 406 feet, a beam (width) of 52 feet, a height of 50 feet plus 200 feet more with the masts in place, a weight of 10 tons empty. Her cruising speed is 15 knots (30 knots for ramming), crew complement of 45 and carries 200 passengers or 600 tons in cargo.

The hull is 4 inches thick, with a hardness of 5 and 40 hit points. The hull has a 20 fire resistance and 4 mages on board to repel magic attacks.

Arcadia is fitted with the newest radar screen and radio technology, she even boasts a "heliport" for gyrocopters and has enough lifeboats for everyone on board.
