Skyfall Event

Shortly before sunrise, a blinding light streaked across the sky heading for Avalonia, but it was deflected by their defenses and exploded in the skies above northern Sylvania in the area that the Tree Gnomes called home. The shock wave that followed obliterated 300,000 acres of forest and knocked people off their feet 100 miles away. Amazingly, nobody was killed in the explosion, but its effects were felt across the world. It tripped earthquakes, tsunamis, mudslides, sinkholes, and volcanic eruptions. For the next few nights, the skies were as bright as if the sun was up. It was thought that a meteor struck, the whole area is one large crater and many smaller ones. Much of the water that was in the area is even missing, except what has recently flowed into the craters.
Many families are missing their loved ones that left to explore the mountains in search of resources and a place to start a new colony.

This event was caused by a wild magic storm.

Localization

This even was localized in the north part of Sylvania.

Witnesses supposedly reported hearing “a noise like stones falling from the sky and rushing wind” after the initial explosion. It is not known for sure because no one there at the time can be found, a few people that were wandering the area nearby, but all they can say is that the mountains tore from their moorings and few into the sky. These people are thought to be mad, “as this couldn’t happen.”

Mages that visited the site afterward say it was caused by a wild magic storm and that the mountains were moved, but not destroyed. Only a few know of this explanation, as it was only reported to their superiors, and they didn't deem it their business.
