Tribal Badgen

This is a sub-species of the main badgen race. They are a reclusive tribe, preferring to keep to the wilds, disdaining settlements.

These badgen are very warlike, often raiding nearby tribes for wives, food and other supplies. There are rarely any deaths as they prefer counting coup than killing.

They wear the skins of animals that they have killed or handwoven cloth.

Art & Architecture

Most of their art looks primitive, but it usually is very complex. They mostly live in tents and rarely raise buildings. Some tribes do build permanent buildings for their winter camp.

They won't use manufactured materials only natural ones. A few will use metal objects but only if they created or saw them created.

Courtship Ideals

Courtship starts with the male talking to his mother about the girl he's interested in, she then talks to the girls' mother. Sometimes the father is consulted as well, depending on the tribe. The shaman is also consulted to see if the Spirits are positive with the match. Of course, the result also depends on her choice.

The prospective partner needs to prove their ability to provide whether they be male or female. Provable skills are shown in quarterly contests of the sex and age group, to help prospective mates choose.
