Great Shovrhan of Alagria
The Great Shovrnate
The Shovrhanate is a line of Half-Dragons who are the royal family of Alagria. The title traditionally passes to the oldest child of the sitting Shovrhan, but has also passed to siblings, cousins, nephews and nieces as circumstances require.
Where a new Shovrhan is not yet an adult, or no inheritor is immediately available, a Shovrhan Aismianum(in name only) is elected by the Councils of 3 Disciplines and 10 Guilds to act as regent.
Current state of the Shovrhanate
The current Great Shovrhan is Remenyekidoh of the Clear Skies (M), who has been in post since 1475 and has presided over a long period of extended peace.
Remenyekidoh had three children, although only one remains in Barada. Their first-born son, Pimaszsaggh was assassinated by Remenyekidoh's second-born son, Alattomosz. While there was no iron-clad proof of the crime, there was sufficient circumstantial evidence that Alattomosz was exiled. Attaomosz was a member of the Obfuscati and would later become a member of the Obliviati in his exile. He is rumoured to have found something of importance in Couatl.
The Shovrhan’s youngest child, his daughter Kiegyenszulyozott is the current heir to the Shovrhanate and is generally considered to be of wise and even-handed character.
The Great Shovrhan Guard
In addition to the city guard of the Guild Yahmi and the army of the Qalea Militaria, the Great Shovrhan maintains their own garrison, called the Great Shovhran Guard.
The main body of the Great Shovrhan Guard are the Personal Guard. More senior members form the highly effective Elite Guard, who are in charge of the Guard's operations and provide the closest level of protection to the Shovrhan.
The Great Shovrhan Guard are lead by the Hand of the Shovrhan.
The current Hand of the Shovrhan is (Dauntless) Ruhan Kader-Bakir (Tabaxi, M), in many respects an unusual choice as he comes from one of Alagria’s nomadic tribes. The nomads are typically considered to prefer independence to the orderly nature of Alagrian city life.
The longest serving member of the Great Shovrhan Guard was Serap Ustasi’s father, Elite Guard (Graceful) Kilic Ustasi, whose skills as a master bladesinger are said to have known no rival.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
Although the Shovrhan is typically a lifetime appointment, in very rare cases it is possible for a Shovrhan to abdicate or rarer still to be removed from power.
During the events of the Darkest Timeline, Shovrhan Remenyekidoh of the Clear Skies voluntarily suspended the Shvorhnate until an investigation could be held into serious suspicions of conspiracy implicating the royal family.
