Session 10: Leaving Thunder Tree

General Summary

Spider Silk for Rashid

We go as a group to collect the spider silk. As we approach the webs come out of the buildings. Cita tosses rocks into the web - as far from us as possible. Giant spider comes out. Rashid cuts some web and a second spider comes out. (And keeps gathering.)   Thoradin gets first hit on the second spider. Stormy got first kill. Cita keept throwing rocks to see if more spiders came out.   Two spiders dead. Rashid harvests bits - poison sack with 6 doses of poison and gets awesome topgrade spidersilk (12 feet).   Slowly investigating inside the building and snag the stuff from the bodies that are spun up.   We've completed everything we can do in Thunder Tree.   Reidoth says 3 days to get to the cliff, climb, and 2 days past that. Wet forest.  

On the Trail

Stormy and Cernan go hunting and get a turkey. We don't want spider.   On watch, Stormy hears buzzing - like a large number of bees. Sturges group. Stormy hits one, but they move.   Cita gets hit and it stays attached. Same for Rashid. They drink and detatch. Cita goes down. Cernan gets hit but takes it down. the one that detatched from rashid, got caught in the web. Shimmer takes one down.   Thoradin stabilizes Cita. We rest.   Half way throught the next day, we see the cliff. "Stairs!" says Reidoth. We're at [Wyvern Tor]. We see a person, he may not have seen us yet. "Orc," says Reidoth. Orcs were not here the last time Reidoth came through.   We plan. Cita and Stormy sneak up. Thoradin will be the bait test, stomping to get the his attention. More appear. They attack.   Cita attacks the sentry. Thoradin gets hit. But rushes up the stairs. And Stormy hits one of the higher up orcs. Rashid and Cita hit the top orcs too. More orcs come out. Fight intensifies!   Cernan blesses. Thoradin killed 3 orcs in one turn! Rashid casts grease, but the orc stands. We take him down.   Searching the camp and the old wyvern nest.   380 xp   [ask Gm for pics]  

Cragma Castle

Arrive near night. Rundown stone castle with 7 towers on swampy ground. We hear activity inside and expect traps inside.   Cita and Stormy scout. Lights come from all sides from the lower floors. No light from the front door. LOTS of rubble on the north side. Stairs on the south.   New Heran townsfolk want the goblins cleared out is on their trade route. Rashid knows it's an ancient castle - from and ANCIENT wizard. Older than the cataclysm that destroyed Frostgrave.   We'll wait a day to see what activity happens. Watch the stairs, rubble, and front. We split into two groups. Thoradin and Stormy + Shimmer watch the north. Everyone else watches the other two (at an angle).   11 am some figures come out of the stairs. South group sees humanoids (3) too tall and have 2 wolves. They go off a path past them. (Hobgoblins? more dangerous and organized.)   The north group sees footbapth that leads into the rubble that leads to a grey canvas.   Night we reconviene. Will watch 2 days and find their routine.   Day 3, the hunting party comes back carrying bundles. We can't be sure it's game.   We want to watch more - maybe a week. Wait until the hobgoblins leave again. The 'footpaths' have what kind of tracks? Goblins, hobgoblins and wolves.   Does the wind usually go in one direction? We will want to be down wind from the wolves. [Dm to answer]   Ideas:
