Session 11: Cragma Castle

General Summary

How to take the Castle and clear the Goblins?

Stormy Smoking Mountain wants to send in a small animal - like a bird to scout for us. Cita finds a sparrow. Stormy casts speak with animals. It will speak with me. It says, "Sunrise was pretty 4 days ago. Stinky castle don’t go there. "
We bribe it with 5 crackers to fly over the castle. He sees barrels and goblins. They have makeshift roofs over things. Bird couldn’t see. Before we’ve seen 3 hobgoblins and 2 wolves in a part go out.

Plan

We will setup an ambush. Try to take one alive. Wait 2 days. If no one comes out - then we raid the castle. The wind is blowing toward us. So the wolves won't smell us. Rashid spots 2 goblins, 2 hobgoblins, 2 wolves. They know Rashid is in the bushes. He stands up and signals us and runs. They pursue.

Fight!

As Rashid is being chased by the group...

Stormy gets first hit and kill of the closest wolf. (It's not from Straff's pack.)

Rashid spins to cast a web carpet.

Cita is first to hit a hobgoblin.

Shimmer zips over to far gobo and tries to talk with it, saying sticking with her is the best bet on survival. Gobo doesn't listen.

Gobo pays her no attenion and hits Rashid. But Rashid gits it with ray of sickness.

Hobgobo hits stormy.

Cita takes out the hobgobo with one shot.

Thoradin son of Thorlum takes the heads off the hobgobo that hit stormy.

Cernan takes the head off the other wolf.

Shimmer tackles the gobo. She has a toy gobo and will take good care of him.

Rashid holds a ball of flame. "Yeild or die." Gobo #2 drops his swords.

We'll do good cop/bad cop.

We question them.

Cernan says, "We have 2 ideas of what to do with you. The first..." He looks at the hobgobo head. "But you may know something we're interested in. Tell us everything about Cragma Castle that you know. Map, numbers, etc." Thoradin looms with his axe.
The gobo from the web draws us a map and tells us what's in the castle. Nim the priest has a big pet snake thing. King Grog as a huge wolf and a dwarven "friend"/prisoner.

Taking the Castle

At night, we go through the secret entrance.
Inside, we hear a female complaining that she won't pay for a piece of paper. A male voice complains that Seran owed him for the map! These are NOT dwarves.
We get ready to storm in to the king's room. (Bugbear, wolf, drow, and prone dwarf)
Thoradin had been taunted by the drow and took off her head. But she turns out to be a doppleganger.
Cita helps the merchant dwarf, who's not in good shape.

The baddies are dead in this room, but there are more on the map!
