Cita used her whip to restrain the minotaur. Stormy gives it a chance. When it refuses saying "The Power of Amanita is inside me!", she offs him.
Several of the Kenku are magic users.
Stormy rushes up and stabs Seran to the ground. not trusting that he's dead. "My only consolation is that you'll never defeat the flamign skull." Stormy laughs, saying we already defeated it. Seran says, "You don't know, do you?" and keels over.
One kanku tries to attack Stormy with 4 flaming arrows. Rashid uses his special ring - Counter spell. (Amy said that Stormy is so gonna take Rashid out on a date.)
Next kenku does similar but they all go different directions. Rashid takes out the other magic user!
Stormy keeps trying to talk them out of it. She thinks they are after power and tried to tell them about Arabeth's power. He just caws at her.
Loot?
Rashid does detect magic around the room. (We are leery of the statue.) Cita and co are looting Seran's body.
Find a pronged dagger (is it for sacrifices? or implanting a mushroom?) has runes on it. Not magical. (otherwordly languages - "For my son Seran." - from Amanita?)
Cernan does autopsy on minotaur to see if we can figure it out. Seran's shroom growth is huge.
Scroll allowed Seran to merge into stone - to hide. lasts 8 hours.
Who is the statue of? Dumathoin (Dwarven god)
Cernan, Thoradin, and Rashid check out the side room and find an unconscious dwarf. We use a healing potion on him. Nundro Rockseeker - the 3rd brother.
Map on the table.
We LONG rest in the "prison room". Was the priest room.
Rashid will put two alarm spells out. One on door and one on Seran. Stormy is really paranoid. Nundro does not have a spike.
The next morning
Seran is still there. We burn the bodies.
Thoradin shares about "the map in his head" and compares to the map Cita found.
Nundro will stay here or be taken to his brother. Stay here - we leave him with weapons and food.
We head south to the "X" on the map - heading toward the water forge. Cita listens at door. Moo-ish and Kenku. We divy out goodberries 2 each.
Cernan uses bless on Cita, Stormy, and Thoradin.
Thoradin tries to peek. The conversation does not seem to stop. Old guard room. 3 minataurs and 3 kenku.
We burst in. They were griping about how hungry they are.
Fight!
Cernan - focus on blondie
Rashid casts web on the back two - magic user and minotaur.
Stormy focuses their chance on they are hungry. "Arabeth provides". Hits the magic user
Cernan and Thoradin focus on "Butterscotch". they take him out. We get called heathens. Bah!
Minotaur hits Cernan HARD.
Minotaur goes after shimmer. Everyone notices! She's mad at the audacity.
Kenku both go after our meatshields.
We have a "lucky dragon" - 2 attacks have missed her.
We work on the rest:
Kenku taken out by Thoradin
Twist Minotaur hits Cernan - Paladin is down.
Red minotaur hits stormy and shimmer.
Kenku hits Thoradin
Magic kenku can't escape the web
Stormy and Shimmer take out the red minotaur.
Cernan (rolls 20 on death save) revives with 1 hitpoint. Takes a potion. Thoradin also gives him a potion.
Cita does a fab acrobatics check and entangles/restrains Twist.
Kenku tries to stab Cernan.
Wizaaard escapes the web. Attacks Thoradin - misses.
Rashid goes against the wizard - fire bolt.
Stormy and Cernan work on Red. Cernan takes him out.
** Stormy wants to take the last kenku alive to try removing the shroom.
Thoradin threatens the kenku. Kenku runs. Cernan tries to attack and not kill. Thoradin hits the kenku with flat of blade.
Shimmer and Stormy didn't want to take him down.
Cernan takes the "spork" and wants to learn more about it.
Cita searches the room. Cernan (and Stormy along side) prays.
We are overcome and shaking. We feel awful afterward - sick!
We see a vision of Seran with a big line of potential followers, spit on the tool and dig it into the back of someone's skull/neck base and convert them. They fall and appear dead. There is something about Seran. We don't think he was human. We suspect that Seran wasn't the only one. The device wasn't magical. Amanita is taking advantage of the world now that the Great Tree is dead.
What benefit does being "renewed" give them.
Becoming one with Amanita?
The shroom does grow. Seran's was different - shroom was larger more ornate and more Amanita looking. Seran was a goat person. Satyr. Not natural here on this planet.
Does Amanita have a gain. They already believed in her.
What is Amanita?
She has more access without the world tree.
DM: similar rules to lycanthropy. Not disease that can be cured. Change not disease.
?? Do willing ones become more plant more than person.
Cernan burns/melts the tool.
Thoradin thinks we should cut down the giant mushroom. That's why he has hew.
Stormy really wants to see if when the mushroom is removed, if the "renewed" are more reasonable. Cernan wants to see if they can be "healed" (possibly of poison).
New info - no way to remove it. When infected they become something new, like lycanthropy. (forgot to share this bit with the group)
Potion of vitality - removes exhaustion, poison, and disease.
Rashid fills the spell ring.
Next Day
Heading to the "X".
We run into the flaming skull AGAIN. ugh.
Rashid: Maybe the skull is tied to something else we have to break?
The skull is dim light. Shimmer is Rashid's guide dragon.

Cita takes out a skeleton and hides.
Thoradin shoots "B". takes him out.
We hit two others.
And we are left in a lurch on the outcome.
Rashid got the GM to say he hated him. Checkmark for the session! :D
