Session 25: Rescuing the Prince
General Summary
Outside of Alador we actually see light and colors! WOW!
All the soldiers have red pauldrons
In the background we hear Thoradin swearing in Dwarvish. Rashid understands and wishes he didn't.
We haven't seen the mushroom flag, but we ahve a clue what it means.
We are fighting the PROS! Likely the elite guard... They are hard to hit!
Cita is removing the horse bridles. And throws her snake, Hubai, at the guard without the spear. Hubai bites them.
One of the archers stomps on the platform. Ruh roh.
The carriage bounces as a giant weight comes off of it. A "giant" comes off the carriage. Barrachas.
He comes charging over to the group. He's quite the challenge.
Cernan - is the one to take the kill on the "not the giant". Was spored.
Cita gets to the wagon and looks in and gasps.
Nothing alive is not spored.
We take out the last 2 guards. Cita is unlocking the the door.
"What have they done?" Cita says.
What she saw:
Cita wakes him. A guys chained to a bench. Missing half arm with a metal stump. Nailed to the bench. Leather strap gagging him. Looks horrible. Once upon a time he was a handsome young man. Was way to restrain a wizard.
He releases a lightning flash and collapses. Rashid says, "That was wild magic. I've not dealt with anyone like that. He was barely holding on to that."
We loot the bodies and the chest.
Cita asks the horse handler, "Where were you headed?"
Was headed to the big city across the lake. He doesn't know why and thinks they were headed elsewhere.
"Who's flag?" -> "Amanita's"
The driver doesn't beleive that the guy we rescued was Alphose. But we convince him. Thinks the baddies were going to show of their prize.
Stormy casts goodberry to revive Alphonse. Cernan casts cure wounds. He's awake grateful. Still in pain. Rashid casts mend on his clothes to help him not feel grimy. Aphonse says, "Thanks brother."
Cernan gives Northern Star 50 gp. Shimmer is happy and and follows him around.
Cita asks Alphonse what happened:
Grasti she confused his father, she had him killed.
Alphonse fought Grasti. Her sword is horrbly cursed. Any wound it gives can never be healed. She cut my arm off and imprisoned me.
His brother and the queen were complicit. The queen was close to Grasti. His brother is a fool.
he knows now that his sister is head of the thieves guild.
We share about Arabeth. Stormy grows flowers.
We have been so long in need of hope.
They wanted to show Bryn that they too would fall.
they also spoke of bringing him before Amanita herslef. Beyond Bryn.
We have yet to deal with
Corbin runs the food empire. -> individual arrayed against him. Angel.

Shimmer is amazed at Alphonse's lightning capability.
What does Alphonse want to do?
He's got PTSD.
Stormy and Cernan pray to see if at least some of Alphonse's mental trauma can be healed. But not share the king on the throne is not the king.
The driver, Ralph, falls at Alphonse's feet. Alphonse lifts him to his feet. Ralph swears fealty. Is now Paige Ralph.
We take a long rest.
Rashid IDs everything we don't know.
Gem of warning. Can be applied to a weapon. Adds "of warning" to any weapon. Warns you of danger, advantage on initiative, can't be surprised. Magically awakens.
Light green stone - ioun stone of agility. Dex + 2 to max of 20.
(Grasti has a purple one?)
