Wizard's Keep Rune Room
We uncover the runes in the 7 arches. The one toward the patio is the keystone. They are ANCIENT.
Rashid realizes the signet ring we found is the key and opens the portal.
We are greeted by Carrak, the crystal eye abberation who has a pocket dimension that goes between our world and the Plane of Earth.
With him we travel to the Plane of Earth and back.
Stormy makes up a song about the beauty of the Plane of Earth. (Needs a notebook to write it down.)
Cita ventures outside the portal area and takes 3 agates.
We share our stories, the letters Seran had about The Lady, books, etc.
Carrak asks if we will be gone for an extended time to close the portal.
Carrak is there to help us solve puzzles.
What We Learn From Carrak
Blackhawk, a knight, built the keep. (Likely the one we talked to at the field with exploding cows.) The crypt in the basement of the keep was of his family.
It knows our true forms, mentioning there were 2 cats in the room. But none of us seemed to know this. It also knew Cernan was angelic and from the planes.
Frostgrave/Falstad was where 3 of the 7 colleges existed. Such a rending of the fabric wouldn’t be allowed by the Great Tree.
The Great Tree wouldn't have allowed The Lady, another god, into the world. There is little restraint for other things that would desire this realm.
When we show him the copper plate invitation, Carrak says there was great magic involved. The commonality of the little yellow bird, we each encountered that set us on our paths, may have been a remnant of the Great Tree.
Carrak is surprised to find Thundertree is 'dead' too.
** Our purpose long term to restore the great tree! **
Fixing Up the Keep
We opt to use the 800gp brick to have the keep rennovated.
Thoradin knows a reliable dwarf who can keep a secret.
Extra weapons can be left at the keep.

Owner is missing. Cita sneaks in. Strange mushroom things are being grown, though not as well developed as in Seran's lab. Poisons? 5 doses of poison (TBD), which Cita takes. Stormy takes herbs to help bait traps, ink and quills and notebook.
Lieutenant Garris
He's holding down the fort well. Best candidate for head of city watch. We'd also support him being mayor.
Sir Clark
We let the king know knight judge Sir Clark is dead and will sent back the sword. Simon wants to stay in New Haran and be part of the watch.
Horses
we buy 3 more horses for 3 of the smokey quartz gems. Cernan and Thoradin get the war horses.
On the Road
Out in nature we hear the howling of wolves. A pack encircles the camp. All of them focus on us.
The Alpha wolf with teal eyes lopes to Stormy and bows, submitting to Stormy. She greets him warmly. Then he howls and a she-wolf brings large bundle of frabric. The blanket falls open to reveal a bronze egg.
Straff says, “We are even.” Stormy hopes to see him again.
The egg hatches that night revealing a
baby bronze dragon
We are 1/3 of the way to
Thunder Tree.
Treasure Claimed
Rashid tests the Onyx Egg Gem. Gives to Cita, since it has stealth properties.
Stormy takes the +1 magic leather armor, silver flute (80 gp), herbs to help bait traps, ink and quills and notebook.
Bridger will let Cernan ride.
Cita took 3 agates from the Plane of Earth, 5 doses of poison (TBD).
Thoradin gets Stirling the warhorse.
