Black Vein Plague

In modern times, the black vein plague has coursed through the mortal realms. A fatal desease, it is easily recognisable by its victim's bloodshot eyes and black outlined veins. Common symptoms of the illness include difficulty breathing, heavy coughing, a sore throat, heavy or even paralysed limbs, fever and difficulty feeling heat and cold. Families are advised to keep their infected family members in a separate room and only encounter them wearing a mask or tightly knit fabric to approach them. Special herbal concuctions can alleviate the symptoms, but cannot cure the illness. Some immortal immigrants, for example refugee elves, have started working on a cure. Since they cannot be infected by the virus, they have power and time to help out their neighbours. Mercurio Latennîn and his partner Rhistel, the ranger, have started gathering ingredients for a cure. His work in dealing with the symptoms is widely recognised in the Wilderness. His apothecary lies in the Crystalline Outpost in the Northwest of Aradeia. Despite his noble upbringing, he is known as an approachable fellow with decades of medical knowledge. His druidic life path combines nature's advice and fauna's foresight. He is currently recruiting adventurers to find the origin of the plague in order to produce an antidote that can be injected into the victims' veins. With their help, he will be able to eradicate the virus and produce vaccines that can be delivered to all places that the virus has spread to.
Providing quick help can and will prevent the deaths of millions. Therefore, for all those who read this article: Keep this message close and have an eye out for potential suitors.
