Faery Folk

Over the years, tinier and less sturdy species of the Omni have unfortunately vanished from the face of Aradeia. One of these species who is still remembered to this day is the delicate and magical faery folk. Known for their ineffable flying skills, their friendly demeanor and their love for jokes and games, these little fellows were beloved among mortals and immortals alike, especially among elves, humans and halflings. They were known to prefer bodies of water, forests and green valleys as their retreats, building tiny cities among the roots and setting up camps to explore and utilise their surroundings. Faeries were beloved companions for adventurers and were gladly used as messengers between the countries when technology wasn't as advanced. Their biggest settlement was in the northeast of the continent, close to the Dûngar tribe's caves. Their elven friends built them a village of silver-white stone, including a shiny manor whose foundation was set deep into the ground to access a pond charged by the arcane core beneath.   The faery folk itself, as well as the sturdier and taller gnome tribes, were obliterated during the first wave of the last war between dwarves and Elvenkind. The Bloodthirst King aimed for genocide of the faeries, in order to impede the communication between the Omni and the elves. To this day, tiny statues all around Aradeia remind passersby of the brave little warriors who gave their lives for everyone. They are the topic of many legends and songs, are remembered dearly by the elderly and often referenced in beautiful paintings. Elven scientists and a few of the tinkerers in Dânmaer referenced faery wings to construct the first flying chairs and detachable wings fueled by magic.   Some rumours mention a so-called 'Faery Paragon' living in the ruins of the faery manor. Nowadays, halfelves and refugees of the elven kingdom live in the remains of the faery folk's main settlement. The paragon appears to be an adapt healer and has been described as having bright, colourful wings. It's yours to find out whether he truly is one of the faeries of old...
