Head Speaker
The head speaker in The Glorious Tinkerer is the custodian and spokesperson of this prestigious guild. Apart from being the artificer with the most versatile skillset in the entire guild, the headspeaker creates the guild's set of rules and executes them with the help of his vice speakers. The head speaker is the only one able to give permission for scholars and tourists to enter the guild and take part in any inventing process whatsoever; meaning that, without his consent, they won't be allowed to even pick up a hammer or take a closer look at a blue print made by one of his students.
This is to prevent idea theft and promote global appreciation for honest work. A person taking on this position is also responsible for checking the supplies, managing costs, educating their youngsters and scholars, motivating their apprentices and checking on their work. Sometimes, they even have to come up with blue prints and new construction site plans themselves, in order to prove their worth. Sceptical voices claim that only Konkôr Barbendt, founder of the guild, will ever be the head speaker of the Tinkerers, but he refuses to confirm this since it came up. According to him, he has quite a list of promising inventors that could replace him and even stated that a few of his children are more than ready to follow into his footsteps.
