Faction 1: The Discontent
League of Fiefs on the Fringe fed up with the core / generally whiny.
Wants to go their own way, even though they're kinda there already.
Not popular in the Fief lands, but no one's really gotten around to dealing with them yet.
Sort of a US militia vibe to them. So, kind of a bunch of shits.
Faction 2: The Largest Fief
Old, very wealthy, but getting inflexible.
Strong militant arm of farmer-cultists.
Some threats that it'll break apart, old vs new thinking and its size straining it.
Also, lots of enemies who'd love to take them down a peg.
Faction 3: Grotto Fief
One of the fiefs down at the grotto
Very protective, isolationist. Cult-fu is strong in this one
Secretsssss
Faction 4: Kung-Fu Dojo
Martial Arts centric fief. A bit of an oddity since they don't really farm, but strong/popular
Influential, but relatively apolitical
School/style feuds (of course)
Faction 5: The Bloodiest Cult
Sacrifices and narcotics
Draw from that one odd mexican cult that kept boiling people in a cauldron
Has attracted the attention of a spirit
Faction 6: Smuggling Syndicate
Criminals!
Smugglers!
Drugs!
Sort of middle between street gang and cosa nostra
Slavers
Faction 7: "Leisure" Syndicate
More criminals!
More drugs!
Also brothels, slave trade and a lot of nastier stuff.
Gambling, drugs, etc.
Faction 8: Merchant Confederecy
City center-based
Out for profit, sees opportunities in everything
Not terribly nice people.
Looking for monopolies where they can.
Faction 9: Bandit confederecy
Especially large, but loosely organized
Constant PITA
Influenced/manipulated by outside forces.
