Serenity Feast

History

After Eversun's Ufiri Tavir, Ranateb, died, the whole country mourned, especially the fellow Ufiri. She was a great leader and at no point during her rule was there any war or contention between other countries and her own. The Tavir succeeding her declared her death day to be a national holiday, where Ufiri could celebrate the peace she brought to the country and spend time with each other.

Execution

The main celebration involves a feast. Throughout the day the holiday may be celebrated however, maybe through music or through meditation, but at sundown the Serenity Feast is had. Each guest coming to the feast, whether it be at a personal residence or town's public event, must bring a group dish to share. Even though the feast centers around sugary foods, if a guest is not able to gather a dish of pastries or something similar, they are encouraged to bring a typical dinner meal, such as roasted vegetables.

Components and tools

The Feast is less of a dinner and more of a dessert. Sometimes a dish of meats might be had, but normally the regular food is eaten before sundown. The Serenity Feast is a collection of sugary dishes: candy, cakes, pies, pastries, etc. The feast's table is also the longest table someone has, in order to seat more guests. It is lit with pink candles or pink lanterns, depending on the items available. Dishware is often made of carnival glass and done in pink, orange, purple, and yellow.

Participants

Anyone is allowed to participate in the feast, whether rich or poor, despite any sort of class standing, because it is a holiday specifically important to Ufiri. The hosts of the feast are the only ones that have a particularly important role. They are the ones that gather the food from others and actually do the setting of the tables, and they also will bless the food if the majority of guests are religious.

Observance

The Serenity Feast is had at sundown on the death day of Tavir Ranateb.
