Heaven's Breath

Al'nahar, the bronze city is a city under siege by the relentless sun itself. During daytime the temperatures sore and make life unbearable, while at night the coastal winds can chill the bones. Ingenious scholars and engineers of the university of Al'nahar found a solution to this problem -a cooling system that harnesses the very elements of the desert to create a haven of comfort. This ingenious design, maintained by the diligent efforts of the Bronze Wardens is is the pride and joy of the university - something they bring up at every opportunity. First build into the university of Al'nahar, it has been adapted to almost every single household that can afford it.

Under the scorching sun

As the sun ascends in the sky, its fierce rays beat down upon the city. The bronze roofs, polished to a mirror-like sheen, reflect the sun's intense light, casting a dazzling brilliance that can be seen from afar. This reflection is not merely for show; it serves a vital purpose. By deflecting the sun's rays, the bronze roofs prevent the buildings below from absorbing the excessive heat. The reflective surfaces act as a shield, keeping the interiors of the structures cool and comfortable, even as the desert outside swelters under the midday sun. Yet, the bronze roofs do more than just reflect. They also absorb some of the sun's heat, their surfaces growing hot to the touch. Specifically chosen for this purpose, the bronze allows it to store this heat in its upper layers, creating a barrier that prevents the heat from penetrating deeply into the buildings. This clever design ensures that while the roofs may be scorching hot, the rooms below remain cool and inviting, a sanctuary from the desert's relentless heat.

Under the twin moons

As the sun sets and the desert air cools, the true purpose of this contraption truly comes to life. The stored heat begins to dissipate, the metal releasing its warmth into the cool night air. What was once glowing with heat under the relentless sun, now readiates with a warm, comforting heat, The brilliance of the design does not end there - all of the roofs are also crafted with intricate vents and channels, allowing for natural ventilation. During the day, theseenable hot air to escape from the buildings, while at night, they facilitate the circulation of cooler air.
