Scales of the jungle
Giant scales are regulary harvested from these cumbersome beasts stalking the jungles once the scales have grown enough. These scales are bleached in the acid waters of the volcanic springs until theyve taken on a grey color. Due to the superb hardness of the material signs are carved into it with pens of obsidian. Thousands upon thousands of these scales have been found in the jungles with more being brought back each year. They contain everything from ordinary poems, senseless scriblings to advanced magical theories.
