The Red Fang

The Red Fang is a cursed artifact of immense power and terrifying history. This jagged, bloodstained fang once belonged to the Primordial Red Dragon, the very first and most powerful of its kind. This dragon was an ancient, destructive force, whose wrathful flames scorched the lands in the early days of the world. When the dragon was finally brought down by an alliance of legendary heroes, its essence was sealed into its fang—an object of raw, untamable power.   The fang, despite the dragon's death, continues to pulse with the same primordial rage that once ignited entire continents. Though its true power is coveted by many, the artifact carries a dire curse that slowly consumes anyone who dares to wield it.   The Fang’s Appearance   The Red Fang is a jagged shard of pure malice, its surface cracked and worn from the passage of eons, yet still gleaming with a faint crimson glow. Dried blood, both ancient and recent, streaks its surface, giving it a dark, ominous aura. The fang is unnaturally warm to the touch, as though it still holds within it the raging fires of the dragon's soul.   Those who wield the fang find their bodies surging with unnatural strength, their reflexes sharpened, their endurance seemingly limitless. This primal might is intoxicating, turning even the weakest individual into a ferocious force on the battlefield. Yet, this power comes at a terrible price, for the essence of the Primordial Red Dragon still lingers within the fang, driving its wielder to madness.   The Curse of the Dragon’s Soul   While the Red Fang grants immense physical prowess, it is cursed by the spirit of the Primordial Red Dragon itself. The dragon’s soul, though fragmented, remains bound to its fang, exuding a constant, subtle influence that gnaws at the minds of those in its proximity. Over time, the wielder—and even those nearby—are consumed by an overwhelming aggression.   At first, the changes are slight: irritability, short tempers, and a growing sense of unease. But as the curse takes hold, these feelings morph into uncontrollable rage. Even the slightest insult becomes a reason for violence, and the thirst for battle becomes insatiable. For the wielder of the fang, this curse transforms them into a savage instrument of destruction, incapable of reason, consumed by the same fiery rage that once fueled the primordial dragon itself.   As the curse deepens, the afflicted begin to lose their sense of self. The spirit of the dragon whispers in their minds, urging them toward greater acts of violence and destruction. It promises them ultimate power, but in truth, it seeks to use them as a vessel to reclaim its former strength. Those who have borne the fang for too long are often found in the aftermath of battle, eyes glazed over, drenched in blood, barely able to recall the carnage they’ve wrought.   The Darkwolf Clan and the Descent into Madness   The current wielder of the Red Fang is none other than the Chieftain of the Darkwolf Clan, a brutal and fearsome orc tribe known for their savage raids and relentless warfare. The Darkwolf Clan, once respected for their warrior prowess, has since become a terrifying force of mindless brutality, consumed by the bloodlust that emanates from the fang.   It is said that the chieftain discovered the fang in a long-abandoned shrine deep within the mountains, guarded by the decayed corpses of those who sought its power before him. Upon claiming the fang, the chieftain was immediately overcome with its raw power, and over time, its insidious influence spread to the entire clan.   Now, the Darkwolf Clan is feared across the lands. No longer fighting with the calculated cunning they once possessed, they have become a horde of mad, crazed fighters. Their raids are brutal and senseless, driven by nothing but a primal hunger for violence. Even their enemies speak in hushed tones of the chieftain, whose strength is unmatched, and whose fury in battle is said to be unstoppable.   The curse of the fang has warped the chieftain’s mind beyond recognition. He no longer seeks to lead his people, but rather to satiate the unquenchable thirst for bloodshed that burns within him. Under his rule, the Darkwolf Clan has become an uncontrollable force, feared not only by their enemies but by their own allies. The orcs have become vessels for the fang’s curse, fighting until their bodies give out, completely oblivious to pain, exhaustion, or fear.   The Dragon's Rage and Its Legacy   The Red Fang is both a weapon and a curse, a relic of the Primordial Red Dragon that refuses to die. The sliver of the dragon’s soul that resides within the fang continues to hunger for destruction, and those who wield it cannot escape the inevitable pull toward madness.   Though the fang’s power is coveted by many, the legacy of its former wielders serves as a dire warning: no one can control the fang without losing themselves. Many have sought it, believing they could master its might, but all have fallen to its curse, their minds shattered and their bodies left broken in its wake.   It is said that as long as the fang exists, the spirit of the Primordial Red Dragon will never truly die. The fang carries the essence of the dragon’s wrath, and should it ever fall into the hands of someone strong enough to harness its full potential, it could once again unleash the same devastation that marked the dragon’s reign of terror.   For now, the Red Fang rests in the hands of the Darkwolf Clan, but its future is uncertain. As the madness of the fang spreads through the clan, many fear that its curse will not be contained, and that the rage of the primordial dragon will soon consume more than just those who wield it.
