The Cythrian Empire originated in the country of Cythra in the northern part of Aranath, approximately 130 years ago. Since its inception, the empire has rapidly expanded, encompassing a significant portion of the continent. Notably, the empire established a vassal relationship with the mighty dwarven city state of Belthrond, showcasing its ability to exert influence over other powerful entities. Around 30 years ago, the Cythrian Empire embarked on a new phase of expansion by waging war against the southern human countries of Kaelderen, Modren, Düren, Lilicea, and Sidonia. Initially, the southern powers managed to hold back the empire at the borders of Modren and Kaelderen. However, the empire's relentless military might eventually prevailed, breaking through Modren's defenses and subjugating the southern countries. The war lasted for two years before the empire emerged as the dominant force in the region. The Cythrian Empire is characterized by its militaristic and expansionistic nature. It is governed by Emperor Ellec Cythra, an uncompromising and strong-willed leader. Despite being human, Emperor Ellec is purportedly over 150 years old according to the state's official narrative, which is far beyond the typical human lifespan. This extraordinary longevity, coupled with the emperor's power and success, has led many citizens and followers of the empire to believe that the gods themselves have blessed and chosen him to unite and rule the entire continent of Aranath. However, opposition to the empire exists among those who hold a different belief. Critics and dissenters argue that the empire has concealed any deaths of previous emperors and perpetuated the illusion of a single, continuous ruler. According to this view, they suspect that Emperor Ellec may not be the same individual who has held power for the past 130 years, raising questions about the truth behind the emperor's prolonged reign.
