Defensive Experimental Research and Protection of the Arcana, (Or D.E.R.P.A) for short, is a gnomish organizations that is dedicated to creating powerful objects and testing their capabilities in an effort to push along advancement of Arcane understanding, while creating countermeasures of their own.  The safety practices of D.E.R.P.A is pretty lack luster, leading to many a mishap. However, that being said they do produce results.
