Irya is the second child and daughter of Lord Carygol Marion, the foremost of his House.
She is said to embody many of the traits House Marion is known for - determination, stubbornness, even foolhardiness.
Some servants whisper that Nathaniel and Irya's marriage has been a troubled one, but it is not clearly visible as such from the outside. Irya is the primary caretaker for their daughter Nethalina, but she still makes rounds about the keep and stays active. As a child of the sea, she knows her way around a boat, and still goes out regularly on canoes around the lake.
Her: "It is a blessing that Cobelport sits on the sea. My greatest request to my father when he was searching for a suitor for me was not to put me somewhere landlocked. I sometimes miss the hustle and bustle of Twoprawn, but the life we have carved out for ourselves here is one I will fight tooth and nail to defend if I must."
