Emberpines
The Emberpines are a species of trees native to Emberpeak Summit. They stand tall and robust, their bark having a fiery hue reminiscent of smoldering embers. These trees are resilient against the biting cold and thrive in the harsh northern climates. Their leaves shimmer with a golden sheen, providing a stark contrast against the snowy landscape. The sap of the Emberpines has alchemical properties, often used in healing tonics and, when properly refined, in enchantment rituals due to its magical properties.
Emberpines reach considerable heights, often soaring beyond 100 feet. They're resilient, requiring minimal nutrients from the nutrient-poor soil of the summit, but they thrive in well-drained areas where they receive ample sunlight. They are endemic to Emberpeak Summit, uniquely adapted to its harsh climate, and are rarely found outside this region. Their roots delve deep into the rocky terrain, ensuring stability against the biting winds that sweep across the summit.
Emberpines offer sparse cover due to their widely spaced branches and needles, allowing some shelter but not dense coverage. The wood is known for its resilience and burns slowly, making it excellent for long-burning fires. However, it's not typically used for construction due to its scarcity and the difficulty in working with it.
