The arcane sciences and industrial might of the Gharall Empire owes itself almost entirely to the Arcance Engineers, who combine technology with all sorts of magical sources to develop machinery and weapons for the empire.

Qualifications

The Guild of Arcane Engineers takes only the brightest young minds of the Empire, training takes years as they learn the ways of mechanics and the lores of magic, this intense and long process tends to weed out all but the smartest and most ruthless of minds as students are in competition with each other through their entire studies.

Career Progression

When the fundamentals of qualification are finally done, the new Arcane Engineer will enter an apprentership with an experienced engineer in the field they wish to specialise in. After a few years, they wil be allowed to have their own projects and will start by making the designs the empire needs, mostly weaponary, to

Payment & Reimbursement

The Guild pay very well, with direct commisions from the Empire for new work and the manufacture of existing designs. An experiencd and in-demand Arcane Engineer will become one of the richer members of Gharallian society

Perception

Purpose

Gharall created, or possibly rediscovered, the fusion of mechanical engineering and magic two decades ago. The first machines were simple engines empowered by arcane spells to run on magical components, then the arclight was invented, providing easy and plentiful artificial light.
From there, more complex mechanisms began to emerge, horseless carriages, automated smithing and many other inventions fuelled the expansion into the Gharall Empire as it is today.
