Legend of the Fey Prince

The stories say that during the Age of Creation when the Creator Gods were forming the world and the creatures that inhabit it, three of the gods decided to take a short break and have a meal together. Of course gods don't have to eat and they themselves would have to conjure the food but these three liked the experience and companionship it brought. They also made wine and, although gods cannot get drunk unless they allow themselves to, this was a relaxing and joyful occasion so they decided to indulge.   Much later in their drunken states they parted ways, not noticing or realising that each of them had dropped one accessory they'd had on their person. The three items were a luck charm made of gold, a paint brush that was also a wand, and a pearl of a pale blue colour. Drawn together by the strong magic left by the presence of three gods having an extraordinary meal in happiness, the lost items formed into the Fey Prince.   Now the Fey Prince wasn't an eladrin elf, or a fairy or pixie or any of the other fey creatures that had already been created. He was something completely new and accidental; a lesser deity in his own right. Having been formed by items dropped and lost by gods and seemingly not missed, the Fey Prince developed a strong love for lost things. He wandered around the world in search of items that others had lost and took them, adding them to his ever growing collection.   The Fey Prince was also fond of experimenting with the arcane capabilities he'd been gifted upon his creation. Not only did he collect items that had been lost, he also had fun enchanting those that did not already have magic of their own. Eventually he grew powerful enough to create things out of thin air, much like the Creator Gods, but he didn't enjoy that process nearly as much and it took more energy than he usually wanted to bother with.   After The Parting War the Fey Prince decided to live amongst mortals on the new Prime Material plane for a bit. After the Prime Material had settled enough for civilisation to thrive, he created a small and unremarkable shop tucked in an alley of one of the great cities that had been built by mortals. In the shop he sold things that had been lost by others before he found them, as well as some trinkets he'd made on his own.   Every time someone entered the shop it would be different depending on what the Fey Prince thought that they might find interesting or, if he didn't like them, boring and stupid items. He also often changed his own appearance and demeanour based on what customer entered. The only thing he never changed was what he was wearing; the creation he was most proud of which was the legendary Armour of the Fey Prince.   After years of this, people had finally begun to talk about his seemingly unremarkable shop and how it was actually truly astonishing. They all had different experiences and encountered different proprietors and yet they all wore the same stunning outfit. So people started coming to the shop a lot more frequently and particularly rich people kept trying to convince the Fey Prince to sell them the clothes he was wearing. No one had seen such beautiful fabrics before. The Fey Prince grew tired of people coming in droves, barely paying attention to the other items he had lovingly collected and instead only longing to buy his armour.    One day he exited the shop, something no one had ever seen him do before (but of course he had done so many times, deities don't have to do such mundane things as walking) and headed toward a plaza. He was also wearing a different outfit and in his arms he carried a training dummy wearing his usual clothing. At the plaza in an astonishing display he showed off that his clothes were actually as durable as plate mail, possibly even more so, and showed no marks of damage even when cut with the sharpest swords.   Then he told everyone that had gathered around to watch that whoever could find his armour would be a worthy new owner. With a wave of his hand, the Fey Prince made the armour disappear and the people gasped, reaching out for what was no longer there. The Fey Prince bowed and then vanished, much like his armour had seconds before.    People rushed to go to his shop but it was no longer there and the Fey Prince was never seen there again.
