Liange Desert

Liange Desert takes up a vast majority of the country Liange, located in the southern part of the continent Imela. This is likely due to the strong influences from the elemental plane of fire on the southernmost parts of the continent.

Geography

The terrain of Liange desert is mostly flat but the wind moving across the sand gives it the appearance of waves. It is possible to walk for several days with no other sight than an expanse of fine sand. However, Liange desert is bisected by a large river where trees and other plants grow on the riverbanks and the nearby area.
A couple of oases grant more opportunities for trees to grow and lend shade and the possibilities of habitats for people and wildlife alike.
Liange desert stretches all the way to the ocean and while part of the coastline is covered by a forest of palm trees, much of it is desert still - like the largest sandy beach known to anyone but not the type one would want to go during a holiday.

Localized Phenomena

Sandstorms are a quite common phenomenon in Liange Desert given its size and the flat plains. They are, however, not as common as in the desert of Liange's neighbouring country Naa'Xan where the influence from the elemental plane of air is stronger.

Fauna & Flora

Aside from what grows and lives by the river, oases and ocean, only the hardiest species of plants and animals have any chance of surviving the sandy plains of Liange Desert. This includes, but is not limited to, lizards and beetles as well as subterranean dwelling animals and plants.


Many monstrous and magical creatures are drawn to deserts, increasing the dangers of venturing too far into Liange desert.
