Slaver

Since the creation of mortal laws, slavery has been illegal in a majority of the countries of Arbressian. There were some places where it was legal but later banned and very few where it is still allowed. Nevertheless, regardless of the legality of slavery there are people still working as slavers on every continent in Arbressian.    Slavers capture people and break them, training them to become good slaves before they sell them, or have people already born in captivity and raise them to be sold off once they get old enough. It is an inherently evil profession.   While being a slaver is illegal in most places on the Prime Material plane of Arbressian, it is a commonplace profession in the Nine Hells and in the City of Brass on the plane of fire. Mortals run a high risk of becoming enslaved by fiends or efreeti if they should ever travel to those places.

Career

Payment & Reimbursement

Depending on the people they capture and how good of a job they do at moulding them into obedient slaves, a slaver can earn thousands of gold from selling just one slave. However, typically a normal able bodied slave of a common race will sell for around a couple of hundred gold. Slavers can also be rewarded based on their discretion in places where slavery is illegal.

Perception

Social Status

Slavers are openly reviled in most countries and will be judged harshly for their crimes. In cases where they're not sentenced to life in prison or execution and eventually go free, they have a very hard time finding an honest livelihood as no law abiding citizen wants anything to do with them. So most of them go back to a life of crime after they are released from prison unless they are killed or become very lucky.
